At High Velocity, we don’t just sell firearms — we help you own them with confidence. We’re a family firearms shop in Napa, California, here for the people of the North Bay: real advice from real people, done the compliant way.
High Velocity Gunworks purchased the firearms business from Sweeney’s Sports in late 2024. We’re located right next door to Sweeney’s, but we’re a separate company under different ownership — a fresh start for firearms in Napa.
We specialize in helping new firearm owners. We take the time to walk you through the selection process instead of rushing a purchase — explaining the differences between your options and helping you find the right firearm for protection, recreation, or hunting. After you buy, we include a complimentary one-on-one cleaning and maintenance session once you’ve had your first range trip.
Our approach is simple: if it exists, we can get it. Browse our on-hand inventory and everything our distributors carry, order it into the store on your own timeline, and complete your purchase with people you know — instead of a faceless out-of-area shipper.
What we do
- New & used firearms — handguns, rifles, and shotguns from nearly every mainstream CA-roster brand, plus collectables. We buy used, too (no consignment).
- Ammunition, optics, parts & accessories — Vortex & Leupold scopes, Vortex & Holosun red dots, AR-platform parts, and more.
- Transfers & Private Party Transfers, law-enforcement pickups, and inbound shipping.
- Gunsmithing & AR builds, plus muzzle threading and custom bolt-action work — all build work reviewed one-on-one with Connor.
- Firearm storage, billed by the quarter.
- New gun owner support — a point-of-purchase walk-through and a complimentary one-on-one cleaning session after your first range trip.
What we don’t do
We don’t have a shooting range, don’t carry air/pellet guns, don’t generally stock reloading supplies, and don’t offer training, hunter-safety courses, or hunting licenses. (For ranges and classes, see our FAQ.)
