HVG Machining LLC, doing business as High Velocity Gunworks (“High Velocity Gunworks,” “HVG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the website hvguns.com (the “Site”) and when you contact or transact with us, how we use and protect that information, and the choices you have. By using the Site or providing us your information, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide. Your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, and the details of your inquiry or order when you create an account, place an order, fill out our contact form, book an appointment, or subscribe to our newsletter.
- Firearm-transfer and compliance information. When you purchase a regulated product, applicable law requires us to collect and retain certain identification and background-check information at the time of transfer. This information is collected and stored to meet legal and regulatory requirements and is not used for marketing.
- Payment information. Payment-card details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our systems.
- Automatically collected information. When you use the Site we may collect device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring pages, through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- process, fulfill, and support your orders and firearm transfers;
- verify identity and eligibility and comply with federal, state, and local law;
- respond to your inquiries and provide customer service, including by phone, email, or text message when you have asked us to;
- send transactional messages about your orders, appointments, and pickups;
- with your consent, send newsletters or promotional messages, which you can opt out of at any time;
- operate, secure, and improve the Site; and
- detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
3. SMS / text messaging program (10DLC)
This section describes how we handle mobile phone numbers and consent for text (SMS) messaging. It is designed to meet mobile-carrier and messaging-compliance requirements.
- Program description. With your consent, High Velocity Gunworks sends text messages for purposes such as order and transfer updates, appointment and pickup reminders, background-check/DROS status, and replies to questions you send us. We may also send account or customer-service messages related to your interactions with us.
- How you opt in. You provide your mobile number and agree to receive texts — for example, by checking the “text me” or SMS-consent option on our contact form, at checkout, or when booking an appointment, or by texting us first. Providing consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
- Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on your orders and interactions with us.
- Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- Opt out and help. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message; we will send a single confirmation and then stop sending texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at 707-287-6180 or Team@hvgun.com.
- Delivery. Message delivery is subject to your carrier; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your mobile information and SMS consent are protected and never sold or shared for third-party marketing. No mobile information — including your phone number and your SMS opt-in/consent — will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell your mobile information. We may share information only with the service providers who help us operate our messaging and business (for example, our messaging platform or customer-service tools), and only as needed to deliver the service you requested. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties for any other purpose.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers who perform services on our behalf — such as payment processing, shipping carriers, hosting, messaging, and customer-service tools — under obligations to protect the information and use it only to provide those services.
- Firearms transfers. Where a firearm is shipped to a licensed dealer (FFL) for transfer, we share the information needed to complete that transfer.
- Legal and regulatory compliance. When required by law, subpoena, or government or regulatory request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
As stated in Section 3, mobile opt-in information and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and tracking
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working (for example, your cart and login session), to remember preferences, and to understand how the Site is used. The age-verification prompt uses a cookie to remember your response. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.
6. Payment security
Payment-card transactions are processed by a third-party payment processor over encrypted connections. We do not store your full card number. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal obligations (including firearm-transfer recordkeeping required by law, which has its own mandated retention periods), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
- Marketing opt-out. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email, and from text messages by replying STOP.
- California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information we hold about them, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your mobile opt-in information for third-party marketing. To exercise a right, contact us using Section 11; we will verify and respond as required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
