Why this is restricted
- California roster (handguns). Off-roster handguns — those not on California's approved roster of certified handguns — may not be sold to the general public; only law-enforcement and other exempt buyers qualify.
- Large-capacity magazine law. Magazines over 10 rounds may not be sold or transferred to the general public in California.
- Law-enforcement / exempt exception. Qualified peace officers and agencies may purchase under the statutory exemption.
- Verified in person. We confirm your LE credentials at the counter before releasing the item — the online attestation does not complete the sale.
- Non-exempt orders. Cannot be delivered; a 50% restocking fee applies (minimum the lower of $50 or the item price).
Description
The Prodigy from Springfield Armory takes the proven 1911 platform and enhances it with a double-stack design and a performance-driven feature set. Finished in durable Coyote Brown Cerakote, the Prodigy features a polymer grip mounted to a forged steel frame that accepts the included 10-round magazines for capacity-restricted states. The double-stack magazine feeds a 4.25-inch bull barrel with an 11-degree crown for match-grade accuracy. Optics-ready, the Prodigy utilizes AOS (Agency Optic System) plates with an integrated rear sight, allowing for proper sight alignment and an intuitive sight picture. Each Prodigy ships with a HEX Dragonfly-compatible plate
